The ingenious checkback, first exhibited in St. Petersburg, presented three works – two sculptures and the Morning panel, which became the nail of the exhibition exhibition.
In 1897, Vrubel wrote three large decorative-monumental panels, united by the common theme “Times”, for one of the interiors of the Moscow House from.T. Morozova on Malaya Spiridonovka, built according to the project f.O. Shekhtel.
In the Morning Morning of the Russian Museum, the awakening nature is personified in the form of four allegorical figures similar to fabulous mermaids. Among the enchanting plexus of giant trees, thick herbs and bizarre flowers, the figure of a naked woman rises, as if growing from an ornamental pattern of plants, which, like a magic dress, reveal all of her to become. With enthusiastic amazement, she meets the ascending light, which spills in the sky and personified by the “beam”, as the artist called another heroine, bizarrely curved and rushing from the forest thickets up. The contrasting transition from statics to the movement has plastically expresses the moment of awakening – from the immobility of the night to the dynamics of the morning, from spiritual rest to sudden excitement. Below, from dense grass, turning into swamp thickets, the third “fairy” (according to Vrubel), personifying awakening from sleep, protrudes. Her face is still motionless, only large dark eyes opened, and the first morning thought appeared in them, maybe the continuation of the last snap. The fourth figure is fragmented: the right edge of the canvas cuts the image of the female head with an expression of fear on the face or a cry of despair, as if the Mermaid saw something terrible. When Vrubel was asked to explain the meaning of this figure, he replied: “This is a fairy tale”. Four female figures with their expressiveness enhance the general emotional mood of the landscape, its poetry and musicality. The cold color of the panel, woven from green tones-from light, diluted with whitewashes, to dark emergency, creates a feeling of cool illumination of the early morning, when the disk of the sun is about to appear due to an invisible horizon.
Behind all the images of the artist are the eternal human categories of good and evil, suffering, life, death, love. They are extremely ambiguous, comprehensive. These are genuine symbols that can cause a variety of responses in the soul of the viewer.

Dreaming to combine art with life in his work, Vrubel worked on the search for a high monumental style and a special national form, using ornamental-rhythmic solutions in works. All this brought him closer to the style of “modern”, which is also characterized by a contrasting transition from statics to movement, from peace of mind to sudden excitement. The artistic language of modernity is characterized by a special smoothness of forms, elongation of figures, emphasis of the contours, the use of plant motifs. The stems, leaves and flowers seem to be woven into a bizarre pattern in which the figures of women or fantastic creatures sometimes appear in a bizarre.
Art Nouveau discovers addiction to allegorical plots, which can be observed in the panel “Morning”. In it, the awakening nature is personified in four allegorical figures of mermaids. Among the enchanting plexus of gigantic trees, thick herbs and bizarre flowers, the figure of a naked woman meets the rising light rises. His artist calls "Beam" and personifies with another heroine, bizarrely curved and rushed from forest thickets to the sky. Below, from dense grass passing into swamp thickets, the third “fairy” is a awakening from sleep. Her face is still motionless, only large dark eyes opened, in which the first morning thought appears, as the continuation of the last surplus. The fourth figure on the right is given fragmentarily: a female head is depicted with an expression of fear and despair.
When Vrubel was asked to explain the meaning of this figure, he replied: “This is a fairy tale”. Four female images enhance the general emotional mood of the landscape, its poetry and musicality. The images created by the artist are meaningful and cause a variety of feelings experienced by man. The flavor of the panel, created from green tones, creates a feeling of coolness of the early morning, when the sun should only appear due to an invisible horizon.
