Jotto. Sorrow

The artist is Denisov

Denisov’s early work, typical of his work of the 1900s- "Sorrow (Giotto)" With its suggestive flavor and complex rhythm of fragile lines, permeated with a mystical mood. The extreme simplification of the form and the all -in -publicity of the musicality of the color combinations form a complex metaphorical image in this work. The paintings of Vasily Denisov were part of the exhibition "Blue horseman", organized by Kandinsky in 1911, as well as the salons of the public. A professional musician who was passionate about the problems of color music, Denisov aroused the interest of contemporaries, including Kandinsky, with his flickering picturesque canvases, pierced "internal" sound and emotional state of the author.
